      For a long a time unseen and for even longer under-recognized, the films of French artist Germaine Dulac have recently begun a long-overdue process of reappraisal with exhibitions in France and New York. In September, Los Angeles cinephiles get their chance to discover the work of this pioneering theorist and influential figure of feminist film and theater when the UCLA Film and Television Archive hosts a four-night retrospective of Dulac’s wide-ranging catalog.
