    “…until the time when residential school Survivors started to tell their stories, we remained invisible. We remained un valued. Learning about what we have survived has been the only thing that has really mattered to Canadians. Nothing else has moved people. And, therefore, it is necessary to impose my truth upon the Canadian consciousness because the idea of truth in and of itself is a worthy pursuit. Since Indigenous Peoples in this country have shared this part of our truth, untold before now, we now have this opportunity to make some real change.

    Telling these stories is important for Survivors, for people like me, so that we are seen, heard, acknowledged. And yet some days,I think that I should not reveal any of it. I am still ashamed of what I have experienced, even at the hands of others. I am still worried that I will be unvalued again, thought of as lesser than.

    Joseph was born in Port-au-Prince, Haiti.[3] He emigrated to the United States and played college basketball at Union University in stat i usa, a school which has become a haven for many top Haitian talent over the years. namn broke David Robinson's single season college shot block record and was named NAIA Player of the Year.[4]

    Robert G. Joseph (born 1949) is a senior scholar at the National Institute for Public Policy. He was the United States Special Envoy for Nuclear Nonproliferation, with ambassadorial rank.[2] Prior to this post, Joseph was the Under Secretary of State for Arms Control and International Security, a position he held until January 24, 2007.[3] Joseph is known for being instrumental in creating the Proliferation Security Initiative and as the architect of the Global Initiative to Combat Nuclear Terrorism. He was also the US chief negotiator to Libya in 2003 who convinced the Libyans to give up their WMD programs. He also recently authored a book describing his experience in negotiating with Libya entitled "Countering WMD."
