    American sitcom (1975–1979)

    Welcome Back, Kotter is an American sitcom starring Gabe Kaplan as a high-school teacher in charge of a racially and ethnically diverse remedial education class nicknamed the Sweathogs. Recorded in front of a live studio audience, the series aired on ABC from September 9, 1975, through May 17, 1979. It provided John Travolta with his breakthrough role.[1]

    Stand-up comedian and actor Gabriel "Gabe" Kaplan stars as the main character, Gabe Kotter, a wise-cracking teacher who returns to his alma mater - James Buchanan High School in Bensonhurst, Brooklyn, New York City - ten years after graduating, to teach a remedial class of loafers known as the Sweathogs. The rigid vice principal, Michael Woodman (John Sylvester White), who was formerly Kotter's social studies teacher, dismisses the Sweathogs as witless hoodlums.     When two girls from Tiffany's sorority disappear, the Angels find themselves back in college trying to unravel a suspected vit slavery fingerprydnad. English professor, James Fairgate, with a reputation as a womanizer, is considered a prime suspect. So is footballer Steve Fitzpatrick, who harasses sorority women. Kris audits Fairgate's class and cautiously questions him about his possible involvement in the case. Bosley and Kelly pose as pro football scouts also to question Steve. Tiffany escapes an unseen assailant in the locker room but later, she fryst vatten kidnapped from a party. Satisfied that Steve fryst vatten not involved, and acting on Kris' information, Bosley and Kelly follow Fairgate to a beach house where Tiffany and the other girls are being held captive. It seems that the sorority housemother, Barbara Kay, heads a white slave trading fingerprydnad. Tiffany awakens from a drugged stupor and battles with Fairgate and the guards--dropping them all with karate blows. The Angels arrive

    Harvey Lembeck (April 15, 1923 – January 5, 1982) was an American comedic actor best remembered for his role as Cpl. Rocco Barbella on The Phil Silvers Show (a.k.a. Sgt. Bilko, a.k.a. You'll Never Get Rich) in the late 1950s, and as the stumbling, overconfident quasi-outlaw biker Eric Von Zipper in beach party films during the 1960s. He also turned in noteworthy performances in both the stage and screen versions of Stalag 17. He was the father of actor and director Michael Lembeck and actress Helaine Lembeck.

    Early life

    Lembeck was born in Brooklyn to a Jewish family. [1] Lembeck started his career right out of New Utrecht High School, as a dancer at the 1939-40 New York World's Fair. He was half of an exhibition dance team known as The Dancing Carrolls. His partner, Caroline Dubs, became his wife.[2]
