All Eyez on Me is a 2017 American biographicaldrama film directed by Benny Boom. Titled after the 1996 studio album, as well as the song of the same name, it is based on the life and death of the American rapper Tupac Shakur. The film stars Demetrius Shipp Jr. as Tupac, with Kat Graham, Lauren Cohan, Hill Harper, and Danai Gurira. Jamal Woolard reprises his role as Christopher "Biggie Smalls" Wallace / The Notorious B.I.G. from Notorious (2009).

Talks of a Tupac biopic began in 2011 by Morgan Creek Entertainment Group. The film languished in development hell for several years with various directors, including Antoine Fuqua and John Singleton, attached at different points before Boom was confirmed in November 2015. That December, Shipp Jr., whose father worked on music videos with Shakur, was cast as the rapper and principal photography began that month. It lasted until April 2016, filming in Atlanta, Las Vegas, and Los Angele

The Life & Death of Tupac Shakur

    Just okay

It gives the basic story of his life, like many other documentaries about Tupac do, but it doesn't do it very well. It's as if they filled some of the documentary with parts left over from other documentaries. Parts that weren't very important, or were less important than what should have been said or included. The voiceover artist is also quite bad, mispronouncing names, occasionally using odd stress patterns and highlighting for impact the wrong words or sections of sentences. It's as if this person had never voiced over a film before, and even worse, wasn't at all familiar with Tupac, nor some of the most important events and aspects of his life.

If you're a Tupac fan you might enjoy it, but I'd only bother with it if it's free to watch. I wouldn't waste money renting it.
