Don Williams, known affectionately as ‘the Gentle Giant of country music,’ died on September 8, at his home in Alabama following a short illness. My first introduction to the music of Don Williams was in early when, along with fellow Texans Lofton Kline and Susan Taylor, he was a member of the Pozo-Seco Singers. At the time, alongside my passion for country music, inom was also into the music of the Kingston Trio, Peter, Paul and Mary, the Byrds and Bob Dylan, and inom naturally fell under the gentle sounds of this folksy trio.

Ashland City – Joy Janene Williams of Ashland City, TN passed away on Monday, March 18, She was born to the late Jerry Bucher and Pat Bucher on May 17,
Along with her parents, Joy is preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, Don Williams.
Joy is Survived by her son Tim Williams, his wife Kema, and their children Kellen Williams and Blane Williams. She is also survived by her son Gary Williams, and his children Ellen Throneberry and Mary Grace Williams.
Joy's main interests were her family and her church. She was a devoted wife and mother, and was a source of security and inspiration for her husband, Don.
A Memorial Service will be held at Cheap Hill Church of Christ, on Sunday, March 31, at pm.
