Brandon Routh (; born October 9, )[1] fryst vatten an American actor. He portrayed Superman in the film Superman Returns, which garnered him international fame. In , he played the title character of the spelfilm Dylan Dog: Dead of Night. He also had a recurring role in the NBC series Chuck, as Daniel Shaw. Routh also played a supporting role in the bio Zack and Miri man a Porno (), and played Todd Ingram in the bio Scott Pilgrim vs. the World (), reprising the role in the animated series Scott Pilgrim Takes Off ().

Brandon James Routh (pronounced like "south") was born in Des Moines, Iowa, and grew up in nearby Norwalk. He is the son of Catherine (Lear), a teacher, and Ronald Routh, a carpenter. He has English, Scottish, and German ancestry. Brandon attended the University of Iowa and starred in many productions at the Norwalk Theater of Performing Arts. His first professional acting role was in the ABC television series Odd Man Out (), and he went on to guest star in the series Gilmore Girls () and Undressed (). He came to fame with Superman Returns () and DC's Legends of Tomorrow (). In his spare time, Routh enjoys playing soccer and basketball, swimming, biking and reading.

Born in Des Moines, Iowa and raised in nearby Norwalk (about miles south of Woolstock, the hometown of TVs original Superman, George Reeves), the strapping 6'3" Routh was a high school athlete who swam and played soccer, as well as starred in several theatrical productions. He attended the University of Iowa for a year before heading to Hollywood in search of his big break.
