Charles Awurum, a Lagos boy at heart, was born and raised in Lagos State, Nigeria. Despite being a Lagos boy, he is originally from Imo State, situated in the southeastern part of Nigeria. His formative years were spent in Lagos, where he completed both his primary and secondary education, obtaining his First School Leaving Certificate and West African Senior School Certificate. However, Charles&#;s educational journey didn&#;t end there; he went on to pursue a Bachelor&#;s Degree in Theatre Arts at the renowned University of Calabar in Cross River State.

Early life
[edit]Awurum grew up in Lagos State and had aspirations to be a professional actor from a young age. He wrote to the producers of Village Headmaster (discontinued Nigerian soap opera) that he aspired to be part of the soap opera cast. Eventually he got an invitation from the producers, but could not feature on the show due to his young age and minimal support from the people and his local community.[3] He stuck to acting drama in church as well as the school he attended.[4]
