    Arjan Jethanand Tanwani was born in Karachi (now in Pakistan) on 7 January in a Sindhi family.[1] He participated in the Quit India Movement and was a Secretary of Students's Union at Kandiaro High School. In , he matriculated from Bombay University. After the Partition of India, after brief stay in Bombay (now Mumbai) and Jaipur, his family migrated to Ahmedabad, India where he joined the Post and Telegraph Department. In , he retired from the service as the Postmaster General from Gondal.[2][3] He worked as an All

Starting with Bhartendu Harishchandra in the late 19th century and subsequent playwrights like Jaishankar Prasad, Mohan Rakesh, Hindi theatre came of age in the s and 50s, when IPTA movement created a new brand of theatre practitioners in Hindi speaking areas, especially with IPTA Mumbai, Prithvi Theatres of thespian Prithviraj Kapoor, and theatre artiste Habib Tanvir, paving way for next generation of artists who came out once National School of teaterpjäs, Delhi started functioning in [1][2]
