    Trine Dyrholm was born in Odense, Denmark on 15 April 1972. She received national attention when she placed third in the Danish “Dansk Melodi Grand Prix” as a fourteen year-old singer. At eighteen, she gained again national recognition when she won the Bodil Award for Best Actress in her debut film, the teenage romance, “Springflod”. Dyrholm has won the Bodil for Best Actress four more times, among which the one for her performance in the thriller “Haevnen” by Susanne Bier that won the Oscar for Best Foreign Language Film at the 83rd Academy Awards, and a Bodil Award for Best Supporting Actress, as well as eight Robert Awards in her acting career.

    Trine Dyrholm is one of Denmark's most famous and successful actresses as well as an accomplished singer-songwriter. Dyrholm spent her youth performing with a local Danish orchestra and became a household name in 1987 when her group, Trine & The Moonlighters, took third place in the Dansk Melodi Grand Prix. The annual competition, which determines Denmark's entry into the long-running "Eurovision Song Contest," launched Dyrholm's career as an entertainer and ignited her interest in acting. She won praise for her film debut in the romantic drama "Springflod" as Pauline, an innocent country girl who falls in love with a reckless city boy, after which she enrolled in the Danish National School of Theater.
