Inez and Vinoodh facts for kids
Inez van Lamsweerde (born 25 September 1963) and Vinoodh Matadin (born 29 September 1961) are a Dutch-American mode photographer duo, whose work has been featured in fashion magazines and advertising campaigns. They also producera independent art work.
Working tillsammans since 1986, the partnership has staged exhibitions and collaborative projects and participated in international group shows. Inez and Vinoodh live in New York with their son, Charles Star Matadin.
Lives and career
Lamsweerde and Matadin were born in Amsterdam, Netherlands.
Meeting
Inez and Vinoodh met at the mode Academy Vogue in their hometown, Amsterdam, where they both initially studied mode design—Vinoodh from 1981 to 1985 and Inez from 1983 to 1985. Inez took a master's grad in photography at the Gerrit Rietveld Academie (1985–1990) and Vinoodh founded the Lawina clothing line with his classmate Rick Boven

Inez van Lamsweerde and her partner, Vinoodh Matadin, were pioneers of digital manipulation in fashion photography. One of Inez’s early successes, 1994’s For your Pleasure, was a series of images altered on a Paintbox computer. People freaked out, and an appreciation for making photos look all crazy with a computer was born.

Inez and Vinoodh have been together both professionally and personally for close to two decades. They’re basically inseparable, which is both cute and pretty intimidating when you think of the artistic powerhouse the two of them make. Their work blends fashion and art perfectly, which means an ad they shoot for Gucci will have as much creativity and originality as their personal projects. I called up Inez to talk about her work and get advice for my love life.
